Drawing from occult imagery, a bizarre personal mythos and the world of illicit and illegal subculture the K-tron aesthetic is more than a posture; it is a lived and unsettling invocation to react against the sterility and corruption of our dominant culture. K-tron is the aka of an individual performer and DJ, the name of a collaborative musical and art project and the non-de-plume for an assortment of experimental writing and miscellaneous creative projects.
K-tron the individual has also co-promoted several of the most influential parties in the capital and has worked behind the scenes for numerous innovative brands. Her work has been featured in US/Japanese/Swedish Vogue, The Sunday Times, Nylon Japan, The Observer Music Monthly, Grazia, BBC Television, Time-Out London, Pop Magazine, i-D and many more respected titles. Her most notorious club project All You Can Eat was heralded as a pioneering multi-media fusion of art, fashion, music and technology. AYCE’s legacy has lived on; K-tron was dubbed one of the “biggest names in clubland” by the best selling 2008 publication CLUBKIDS (Blackdog Publishing [ISBN – 978 –1-906155-54-4] a history of clubbing in the 20th Century.
Her various musical projects have played across the globe rocking Glastonbury twice and featuring on the same bill as the Libertines, Clor, Midnight Juggernauts, the Noisettes, Siobhan Fahey and a glittering role call of seminal homegrown and international talent. K-tron’s fine art has been included in the permanent collection at MOMA, a prestigious group show in the Canary Wharf offices of the Clifford Chance law firm and as part of the !WOWWOW! collective at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. DJ highlights include a residences at Ministry of Sound, Ghetto and Modiva, a Kitsune feature slot and guest appearances at festivals with the legendary GirlCore and Nuke Them All.
